I'm often asked: which do I enjoy more, directing or writing? The answer is "YES." The essence of both is storytelling - the ability to bring characters to life, to explore themes through drama, and to take an audience somewhere they have never been before - these are the challenges and joys of filmmaking. Writing demands imagination and makes me a better director. Directing demands an understanding of dramatic themes and protecting the story's integrity while remaining adaptable, focused, calm, and creative under pressure. I love it all.
