grey's anatomy

It felt great to come back to Grey's for my third episode and to see everyone again after a long wait due to the strike.  I had spent the last few months teaching a film class at San Quentin Prison so it was a mind-boggling surprise to find that the script for 2006 featured a story about a terminally ill incarcerated man. Fortunately, Sandra Hamada wrote a beautiful, moving script and we had the good fortune of casting the one and only Raymond Cruz (from "Breaking Bad!") in the inmate role.

EPISODE #1917: "COME FLY WITH ME" (Aired May, 2023)

I was honored to be asked back for my second (!) Greys episode of Season 19 for an episode about Lincoln's chance to redeem himself after a patient tragically and unexpectedly died in a previous episode. Well written by Kingsley Ume (his first network TV episode!), the story had a beautiful mix of drama and lighter moments.

EPISODE #1904: "HAUNTED" (Aired October, 2022)

I was thrilled to return to "Shondaland" to helm an episode of "Grey's Anatomy." And it was the Halloween episode no less! I was given a great script written by Jamie Denbo and had a wonderful time working with the new cast of interns (who are the future of the show)
